JUDAISM In Israel
Israel is the center and place of origin for Judaism. Since all of history and for all of the future, Israel and Judaism will be intertwined. All of the Jewish historic sites are in the holy land of Israel. These sites include Hebron, Judaism's first and second temples, the Temple Mount, and Jerusalem. Jerusalem specifically is the center of all things Judaism. It is not only the Israel capital, but the capital of religious activities and worship. The city has been this way since the beginning of modern history itself. Israel has many different types of Jewish citizens. Some with extreme religious views and those that are more casual. Only twenty percent of Jews in Israel follow all religious practices, similarly twenty percent don't follow any religious practices. Because Israel was created as a Jewish land, many of their religious holidays have become national.
CHRISTIANITY in israel
Just as there is a connection between Judaism and Israel, there exists one with Christianity. Israel is also seen as a holy land to the bible, as Jesus lived, preached, and died in Israel. There are many significant landmarks that hold importance to Christians, both in Israel and in other places. These include The Room of the Last Supper, Via Dolorosa, The Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and The Church of Annunciation. Most of the Christians in Israel are Arabs while other Christians come from across the globe to live in the holy land. There are four main christian groups in Israel. These are Chalcedonian-Orthodox, Non-Chalcedonian Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Protestant. There are a little over twenty ancient churches located across Israel in Christian communities.
Islam in israel
Islam is the third most prominent religion in Israel. Muslims are able to practice freely In Israel, just as is any other type of religion. Like most Israeli Christians, most Israeli Muslims are Arabs. Muslims are known to be doctors, government officials, and students of law. Muslims make up a large amount of the Israeli workforce. There isn't as much Islam culture prevalent in Israel. This is because nearly all of the countries surrounding Israel are Muslim-based and there isn't a lack of Islam in the general region. There are however, several Muslim communities throughout the country. Just like the Christians, the Muslims have governmental and religious control over their mosques. One of the most notable mosques is that of the Temple Mount. Temple Mount, is where Islams believe Mohammed ascended into the heavens above. Muslims entered the region almost as soon as the religion itself was created.
